Why to Use Nitrile Gloves?

If you are working in a hospital or another health care unit you might be familiar with nitrile gloves. The reason for nitrile being used in exam gloves these days is that more and more people are allergic to latex, and it is a lot easier to simply replace them all with nitrile than start asking everyone if they are allergic. Symptoms range from skin irritation to worse allergic reactions.

As we all know, latex is a natural product and that is the biggest reason for it to start causing allergies – there are molecules also known as allergens that can cause the reaction. People like nurses and doctors who are constantly exposed to these allergens can become allergic to them. Tattoo artists and mechanics have been using black nitrile gloves for this reason for ages.

Being a synthetic material, nitrile doesn’t contain these remains of proteins and other molecules that can easily develop and allergy to the wearer, but also it will not induce a reaction in the patient, which might be fatal for someone who is under surgery, or badly injured.

Not only are nitrile gloves allergy free, but also the material is more durable, making it perfect for doctors to use. Since doctors are dealing with blood, and needels, they benefit from a puncture resistant glove, that can save them from getting an easily transmitted disease like HIV or other STD. This is also beneficial for mechanics and tattoo artists that use gloves made of this material also. Being able to use the same glove during the whole day also saves the envinronment, and the money of the person buying those gloves.

Chemical resistance is also better in nitrile than in latex, and that is why they are also common with hairdressers, that are dealing with strong chemicals which are used in hair dyes, and other treatments.
