Thinking About Your Vitamin Intake?

No matter how healthy you eat, it’s virtually impossible to get everything into your body that it really needs. Taking vitamins is really the best thing next to exercising, getting plenty of sleep, and eating healthy foods that you can do for your body.  I haven’t always done it, but for the past year or so I started and continue to do so.  I’m never sure exactly what to take, so I figure I cover all the basis by taking a multivitamin.  It doesn’t really give you a lot of any one vitamin, but it covers pretty much all the bases with a least a little bit of what you need.  I suppose, that if I was really gung ho, I could take two multivitamins every day and see how that feels.

I was in recently for a checkup with my doctor, and she was pretty gung-ho on taking vitamin D.  It has a lot of potential benefits, especially for people that live in a somewhat chilly climate that doesn’t see a lot of sun during the winter months.  She went so far, as to recommend it to the whole family.  They seem a little resistant to it, but I’m still trying.  I take the 1000 IU tablets, in addition to what the multi-vitamins give me.  To me, vitamins are a no brainer.  They’re pretty inexpensive, and a whole lot easier than some of the workouts I put myself through.
