Can You Skpe Your Doctor?

It may seem kind of far fetched, to video conference with your doctor, but video over IP is  technology that has matured enough to make it a very real possibility.  And, it’s not just for patients living on the most remote places on earth.  It will certainly help in those circumstances, but even for someone like myself who is lucky enough to have a family doctor in the middle of a major city, making appointments with my doctor can be a challenge.  I recently made an appointment for a physical, and it was five months in the future.  Now, sure there’s nothing urgent involved here, but that still seems like a long time.  And, certainly there are plenty of things you can do over Skype with your doctor, but I suspect there are some.  Maybe not my physical, but how about for things like dermatology or prescription questions, or mental health visits.  By being able to do those non physical type appoints via the digital technology, is sure to free up more of a doctors time.
